		<description>Great tips. Totally agree that squats are king, but classic back squats can put the back at risk. Can I suggest that some folks might want to at least start with single leg squats and front squats, which are way safer? And a dynamic warmup that includes some leg swings and lunges, which I find has really helped me with my leg workouts over the plain old stretching I used to do.

And point #4 if important too - jogging is great if you want to become a great jogger (and it&#039;s a good warmup), but distance running will actually work *against* you, actually decreasing your ability to generate explosive force. People who don&#039;t have the stamina to play a full game should lay their endurance base in the post-season and then shift to more explosive workouts in the pre-season, then just try to treat themselves gently and maintain during the season (at least in my opinion).</description>
